United offered a surprise today by eliminating change fees.   They say there are no change fees for all tickets but basic economy.  Basic economy has no change fees through 12/31/2020.

Award tickets have no change fees and awards may be redeposited for miles until 30 days prior to travel. 

Additionally,  United is allowing standby on another flight on day of travel for no fee. 

Its nice to see some rules of yesteryear back in place.
