Last year I had signed up for a status match challenge with Delta SkyMiles.  It gave me Platinum status through May 2021.   I was not able to meet the requirements of the status match, so my status dropped back down June 1.

Yesterday, I received a nice surprise in my email from Delta – a $50 electronic credit in my Delta account for having participated in the status match challenge.   The credit is good through December 31st.

Here is the email:

Thank you for your participation in the Elevated Status Match Challenge and loyalty to Delta. Although the challenge ended, we know summer travel is heating up and so are your travel plans. We’ve added a $50 eCredit to your SkyMiles account to help make planning your next trip even easier.   We hope this $50 helps you kickstart your next adventure where the #SkyMilesLife awaits, and we can’t wait to see you on board again soon.  

This was a great gesture.  Additionally, this will be combinable with any of the dollars off Delta Amex offers that are around.
