Many credit cards come with sign-up bonuses which require a certain amount of spend within a certain time frame.  One such card is the Chase United Mileage Plus Business card.  This card comes with a whopping 100,000 United Miles with $10,000 spend within 3 months of card opening.

Given the coronavirus situation, hitting this spend within 3 months can be challenging. Via Chase secure messaging, I asked if I could get an extension on the time frame to meet the minimum spend.  48 hours later, I received the following response from Chase”

‘I would like to first let you know we are here to help and in this together. I am happy to inform you at this time we are extending the spend time frame by one month. You will have an additional month to meet the $10,000 spend requirement. We are monitoring the situation closely and will make adjustments as we go. Please let us know when you have met the spend requirement. Your safety is our number one concern.’

I thought this response was very fair and it even mentioned there could be further modifications in the future.  As I’ve said before, it never hurts to ask.
