Luckily, one of my kids’ colleges takes Visa or Mastercard with no credit card fee. This brought a great opportunity for 7,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points.
Normally, I would use my Chase Freedom Unlimited card and get 1.5 points per dollar spent, but the 4th Quarter rotating bonus on my regular Chase Freedom card is 5 points per dollar on PayPal Charges.
PayPal has a new feature called PayPal Key. If you look on your PayPal account, you will see this. What it does is generate a Mastercard number for you to use most places that take credit cards. You need to link your a freedom card to PayPal and select it as the primary form of payment. Incidentally, you can link an Amex card to PayPal and use PayPal Key in many places that don’t take Amex but do take Mastercard so you can get your Amex points.
For next month, the Citi Prestige card has 5x Thank You points on $1,875 in online spend so I will pay for college using that card. I was told by Citi Bank that this bonus will work for any purchase where the card is not swiped or the chip isn’t used in person. This will generate 9,375 Citi Thank You points.
There have been some easy point generating methods lately.
