A week and a half ago I noticed that the AMEX chat function disappeared on both the app and the website.   Via DM on Twitter to AskAmex, they could provide no info.   

Now DM on Twitter seems to have disappeared as well.

However, I found a solution.  Go to www.AmericanExpress.com/socialchat and login to your account.  Not only will you be able to chat with customer service again, but your prior chat history will still be in tact.

Hopefully, Amex restores the chat function as it once had.
