World of Hyatt Triple Nights

I recently got a new Chase World of Hyatt credit card.  Aside from the bonus points and 5 night credit toward elite status, it came with double night credit through the end of the year.   From my prior trip to the Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar, I earned 4 night credits (2 nights doubled), so I now have 9 night credits.   Hyatt is offering a reduced number of nights to get to their top-tier Globalist level.   So, I need 21 more nights to get to Globalist.

A new offer was just sent to some World of Hyatt credit card holders offering an additional night for stays at Andaz resorts through December 23rd.   My friend Mark over at Miles to Memories asked Hyatt if this promotion would stack with the double nights promotion from the credit card sign-up.   He was told yes.  This will then give 3 night credits per stay at Andaz properties.   Doing the math, that would mean with 7 nights in an Andaz, I’d earn 21 nights bringing me to 30, and Globalist status.

Looking at the Hyatt website, the cheapest Andaz is a category  2 property requiring 8,000 points per night.   I could transfer 56,000 Chase points to Hyatt and book the reservation.   Alternately, a paid room is around $130 per night.  The only issue is that the property is in Abu Dhabi.   A bit far.  There is a category 3 property in Ottowa, Canada which would require 12,000 points per night.   I doubt I’m making either of these trips, so this plan may not work out unless I stay at a domestic property coming up.  However, there is definitely an opportunity if you have upcoming Andaz stays.

What are your plans on taking advantage of this promotion?
