There is a new feature on United.com called Budget Search which the website says is still in beta testing.  What this will do is show you the cheapest fares on a map from a particular city to other cities around the world with the airfare shown.

The link is located on the home page after you login.

When you click on it, it will take you to a map.   You type in a city and either flexible dates or a specific date.    You can set a maximum price if you like.    You  can filter choices by several interests such as beach, golf, and national parks.  There is also a filter for all airports or only places you have been.  You can zoom in and out on the map to drill down to more cities.

Once you see the results on the map, you can click the fare and book it.

I think this feature could be very helpful if you are thinking “where can I go for a certain amount of money next weekend?”  What would be a great addition in the future would be to show how many award miles would be needed as well.

Overall, I think its a nice enhancement to the website.
