Does United care about you?

United

United is allowing you to change your tickets for no fee if you purchased them since March 3rd.   They claim this is to help you in case you have issued traveling related to the Coronavirus.  So sweet of them.

It’s really a money grab.  With people not buying tickets, they are doing what they can to get people to buy more tickets.

If United really cared about passengers’ health, they would allow for changes of tickets purchased prior to March 3rd with no fee.  They are not. They just want you locked into what you purchased prior to the outbreak with no accommodations.

Additionally, yesterday United changed its policy on schedule changes.  Prior to yesterday if United changed a flights schedule by more than 2 hours, you could get a refund.  As of yesterday, they changed the rule that the flight must change by more than 25 hours to get a refund!   Absurd.  They can change whatever they want for no penalty, yet the passengers can’t.   Today, they changed this a bit saying you could get a travel voucher for less than a 25 hour schedule change.  How kind.

If only United wasn’t the primary option. where I live….

Updated: Delta is now allowing changes to tickets previously purchased prior to March. No word from United.
