Brex is a relatively new platform that offers a no-fee debit card that earns points which can be redeemed for cash at $.01 per point, or transferred to certain airlines. They had a great sign-up offer for 110,000 points a few months back with very little effort. As I mentioned in the Miles to Memories Diamond Lounge, I noticed a new offer popped up a few days in the Rewards section of the website which is just as easy.
Brex points transfer at a 1:1 ratio to the JetBLue TrueBlue, Air France Flying blue, AeroMexico, Avianca LifeMiles, Singapore KrisFLyer, Asia miles, Qantas, and Emirates programs.
If you open a PayPal merchant services account (credit card processing) through the Brex link, you can earn 100,000 Brex points. This is worth at least $1,000. I signed-up over the phone with PayPal and linked to my Brex account. In total it took about 15 minutes as the agent walked me through how to set it up online. She also took me through how to get a free credit card reader. We then made a test $1 purchase, which seemed to go through fine. There are no monthly fees and no minimum of charges required.
I asked Brex when the points would post and they couldn’t tell me. A few days later I checked again and and they told me:
PayPal will be providing us with a list of customers eligible for this bonus offer once each month, which is when we will grant those points. Since this offer with PayPal started in mid April, we would expect you to receive the points sometime in mid May.
I will keep you posted on the status of the points. This almost seems too easy.
